Broken Sidewalk
I have been reporting this on 311 and calling Boston Water and Sewer since January. Workers looking for lead pipes dug up my sidewalk and placed a poorly packed cold patch. Since that time, water is seeping through basement drywall directly under the patched area which has always been dry before. At one point about 8 weeks ago, the patch was reinforced. It has deteriorated again. Two workers came out, inspected sidewalk and basement and determined that I needed a new sidewalk that was properly pitched and sealed. Despite their efforts, another month has gone by. The sidewalk has not been repaired. I am told the work order is in and they will get to it when they can. Meanwhile, my basement drywall is ruined, the rain continues, and water keeps seeping in. I have filed online, contacted 311, spoken to people, and am no further ahead than I was months ago. This cannot wait any longer as the seepage is expanding with all the rainfall and is now creeping towards an area with electrical wiring. I can’t even begin to repair basement because the source of the issue must first be fixed. Please help connect to someone who can provide some answers and expedite this work.
