Description
Can I ask why the watering system is around a pole as opposed to the tree? (Water leaking to sidewalk; tree base staying dry.)

Case Noted | The watering bags were properly installed by the planting contractor to the specifications set forth by the City Arborist. The watering bags should be installed around the tree stake itself and not the trunk of the tree. This is done to prevent the trunk of the tree from being damaged by the wet conditions that the watering bag creates around the trunk as well as to encourage new root growth outside of the root ball. Since the watering bag sits on top of the root ball it still waters the tree when it is filled.
