- I was using the bicycle lane (on a bicycle), continuing straight through a green light. A driver turned right in their car across my path with an unsafe distance requiring me to do an evasive maneuver. This intersection is both dangerously designed and under-policed. Drivers do not seem aware that they do not have turn priority to cross over a bicycle lane without yielding. This intersection was sited in the past for increased physical separation between vehicles and cyclists; we deployed the concrete barriers to last longer than flexposts only. We are continuing to revisit this location for ways better control motorist turning behaviors. What you describe should be reported to the BPD.
