Description
Other | Details: [Details: Dear City of Boston 311 Team, I am writing to formally report a fallen tree incident involving city property that caused significant damage to my residence at 74 Woodcliff Street, Boston, MA 02125, during a severe weather event on June 19, 2025. The tree originated from the unmaintained wooded parcel behind 2–4 Letterfine Terrace—an area that appears to fall under city jurisdiction, bordering parcel ID 1502183000 and visible in attached satellite imagery. This tree fell directly across city land and crashed into my home, which now has extensive roof and structural damage. I’ve included a visual PDF (Redwing_City Property_Tree_Fall.pdf) that identifies: The precise fall path of the tree from city-owned open space behind Letterfine Terrace; Its impact zone on my private residence; The relevant addresses and parcel boundaries via Google Maps satellite view. I am requesting the following: Confirmation of city ownership or control over the lot the tree stood on; Any existing records of tree maintenance, pruning, inspection, or complaints previously filed in that area; A formal acknowledgment that this tree originated from city land and crossed city space before damaging my property; Guidance on next steps for initiating a municipal liability or tort claim process. I’ve already submitted a report to USAA, my insurer (Claim #016899814813), and a site inspection was conducted by Ralph Kurpeski and Jose Rodrigues from Inspectional Services on June 20, 2025, who advised the property was unsafe. I was not issued any official documentation from the city, and I am requesting this now as part of my recovery and claims process. Please advise if additional details are needed. I am prepared to provide high-resolution photos of the damage and additional documentation, including the inspection timeline and correspondence from adjusters. I appreciate your prompt attention to this serious matter, which involves public safety, residential loss, and municipal oversight. Sincerely, Allen Redwing Resident & Property Owner 74 Woodcliff Street Boston, MA 02125 (857) 271-9588] Exact location: [Rear of property – Tree fell from city-owned wooded lot located behind 2–4 Letterfine Terrace and landed in the rear yard of my home at 74 Woodcliff Street, damaging the roof and structure.
