Constituent reports last winter a tree from rogers park that borders the retaining wall at 470 Washington st fell and damaged the retaining wall. The parks dept removed the tree but the area is now overgrown with weeds. As I walked through the Commons this morning, I noticed an about 6” diameter hole in the sidewalk pavement that is located within about a foot of the storm drain located on the left side of the walkway from the Charles and Beacon Street corner toward Gilbert (the “Town Crier”) and just opposite or slightly past the entrance to the garage. The hole looked to be fairly open below the pavement and were one of the trucks that are all over the Commons this morning to drive over this area, it my cave in.
