I am a tenant reporting an ongoing rodent infestation in my rental unit that has persisted for several months. I have repeatedly notified my landlord, and the landlord has arranged multiple extermination attempts, but the rodent problem continues. There is ongoing evidence of rodent activity inside the apartment, including droppings/mice/noises/holes/damage. The continued infestation has affected our ability to normally use portions of the apartment, including the kitchen and living areas. Despite repeated pest-control treatments, the underlying issue has not been resolved. I am requesting an Inspectional Services housing inspection of my unit and the property to determine whether there are housing-code violations or structural/maintenance conditions allowing the rodents to enter and remain in the building, and to require appropriate corrective action.

151 Lstreet there is a bad rat problem at this property. A large number of rats appeared to be living and nesting in the heavily overgrown weeds in the back of this property. I have repeatedly seen rodents coming in and out of the area they hide during the day under the weeds and come out at night, the weeds are extremely overgrown and it provides shelter during the day and nesting for them. I have spent thousands of dollars because they use my property as a highway to cut through. My exterminator told me that this is where the problem is originally coming from. There are Burroughs and holes that are visible to anyone this is a quality of life issue. They are renting out all three floors in the landlord never comes by. He don’t care. Rodent infestation at 54 Cottage st. Many rats have been seen coming from this spot. As seen in photo there is a dead rat in it. This has been in this condition going on almost 2 years. It's disgusting to see.

Active mouse infestation inside a multi-unit complex building: The Peninsula Apartments at 401 Mt Vernon St, Building 401, Apt 412, Dorchester, MA 02125. Management is violating the Massachusetts State Sanitary Code (105 CMR 410.550) by masking/covering up major rodent holes in the walls with superficial patches rather than executing a professional structural pest exclusion. Requesting an urgent housing inspection by the Inspectional Services Department (ISD).

Rat the size of a raccoon during daylight!

There is an active rat burrow in our rental property’s backyard. The treatment being used hasn’t eliminated it. We have a dog who uses the yard and have concerns about the proposed pesticide treatment. We’d like ISD to inspect the property and determine what remediation is required.
