Yes, the water bags are intentionally placed on the stakes to provide water to the roots away from the trunk to encourage outward root growth so the tree becomes established with a healthy base. Thank you for watering them! It definitely helps. If any pruning is needed in the future (sidewalk clearance, broken branches etc) please submit a 311 request.

    A tree that the City planted last year in front of my home at 130 Manthorne Road in West Roxbury appears dead. It produced no leaves this year, and the branches and stems are dry and brittle. There are only scrub root shoots. Can the City replace this tree? Thank you!
