    There is a questionably-constructed rooftop kitchen exhaust stack positioned directly outside our windows in Unit 1226 at 180 Brookline Ave, from a restaurant Sweet Cheeks Q, which blows smoke directly into our unit on a daily / near-constant basis. This smoke blows into our unit if the windows are open, and also seeps through our door through a hallway vent when the windows are closed. At a glance, this smokestack does not appear to be up to code, as it is clearly not far away from open windows or vents. It is impacting the health and safety of our unit directly. Our real estate company Samuels & Associates refuses to do anything about this, despite acknowledging it as a problem; they maintain there is nothing they can do and suggested we file a 311 complaint. Samuels & Associates is both our landlord and the landlord of Sweet Cheeks - frankly, we suspect they may be prioritizing the economic interest of their restaurant tenant over their health and safety obligations to us as housing tenants. We can provide detailed photos and videos of the smokestack, which includes evidence the smoke enters our unit. We can also provide communications with our landlord confirming their acknowledgement of the issue and refusal to remedy.
