  • The tall lights that are in Pagoda Park either don't work or don't turn on automatically. I've seen (and participated) in a lot of basketball games in the park that go pretty late and it's very hard to see with only street lighting. Additionally, the basketball nets all need replacing as well. I can make another request if that is easier. | SR Type: [Electrical values (Parks)] SR Area: [Trades]

  • At the Williams St entrance of Franklin Park a guy cable from a utility pole on Forest Hills St. was anchored to a large willow tree in the park. During a storm over a year ago the cable pulled down two willows, blocking Forest Hills St. NStar re-cabled to the last willow in the park, putting it at risk. After complaints by residents and the Parks Dept., NStar agreed to install a pole in the sidewalk to replace the tree as support for the cable. They said that the City would take two years to issue the permit to do so. This is a complicated site, due to a narrow sidewalk, crosswalk and handicap ramp, traffic signals and control box, and the Park entrance. Input from the neighborhood, the Franklin Park Coalition, the Parks dept, and DPW is necessary. We ask that this project be addressed now so that we don't lose the last willow in the next big storm. Thank you for your attention to this matter.]

  • This small neighborhood park right next to the middle school has turned into a hang out area for drunks. There are empty liquor bottles and garbage on the ground. This area is never maintained by city workers and there is no proper trash bin to be found anywhere in this neighborhood. Hence, the whole street, bus stops etc. are covered in loose litter. | SR Area: [Ground Maintenance]
