The open lot adjacent to my home on 94 Magnolia street has not been cleaned for the year. It is overgrown with bushes and poses a safety concern to me. Unsavory characters could easily hide in the bushes. Eliot K8 playground in the Nor End has damaged equipment and there are several deeper ruts in the rubber play surface. Children have returned to school and I feel these conditions are not safe. The weedwhacking that is done periodically definitely makes a positive difference in how things look. However, in the bed of 'rug juniper' (or something like that), the weedwhacking has been so low that is has whacked the desired planting, and several of the 'rugs' have been killed as a result.
