Submitted via contact form: I had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago, and my doctors have prescribed short walks in the neighborhood. However, work to replace pipes in our area of Beacon Hill (corner of Mt. Vernon and West Cedar Streets), which was completed in early July, has left the streets a moonscape and a hazard for the public, and especially for the many inhabitants, including myself who use walkers and canes. Indeed, my young physical therapist has fallen twice during the past weeks on these streets from the numerous pot holes.
