Install New Lighting
64 Seaport Blvd, Boston, Ma, 02210Problem: [Constituent sent an email to feedback@boston.gov stating, "I live on Fan Pier Blvd and I can't understand why there has been no emphasis on putting street lights or any type of lighting on the crosswalk at Fan Pier Blvd and Seaport Blvd (across from the Shake Shack). It is a VERY popular place to cross the street and it is very dark. There is no lighting at all. I'm not sure why there are 15 spotlights on the new artwork sculpture there and nothing the for people crossing the street at all. Its a very dangerous spot as there is no overhead lighting, illuminating the crosswalk or even a big yellow sign reminding drivers that pedestrians will be crossing. Cars try and blow by the intersection a lot and I have seen some very close calls with people almost getting hit. With the influx of people who flock to this area every night, this is something that has to get addressed. Now that the barrier is down, making Fan Pier a 2 way street, its adding even more cars in that area. ALL of the other crosswalks on the street either have overhead leads or a traffic light. Please let me know if I need to go to some meeting to voice my opinion or what. I would really like to see this resolved. Thank you."]
