Intersection Of Fairbanks St And Washington St, Brighton, MaConstituent reported that the cars turning on Fairbanks St from Washington St are always speeding.Const is requesting that signs are installed or somthing similar to urge drivers to slow down. |

BTD investigated and found that Fairbanks St is slated to receive speed humps in the next few years based on our criteria. We evaluated each area for its safety history, demographics (higher numbers of children, older adults, and people with a disability), if there are parks, schools, community centers nearby, plans for repaving and ramp construction, and needs otherwise identified by the residents of the neighborhood. We are glad that we are able to bring this important safety intervention to your area. Unfortunately, BTD has discontinued installing DRIVE SLOW or SLOW signs due to over time these signs have been deemed not effective to reduce speeding. Thank you for contacting 311 and BTD.

Intersection Of Walworth St And South St, Roslindale, MaConstituent states that the no turn on red sign at the intersection is puzzeling. Constituent states there is no need for the sign to be there and counted multiple cars that went over the yellow line to take a right on red. |
CLOSED · #101006335542Case Noted. The "NO Turn on RED' sign was install due to numerous complaints by pedestrians in this neighborhood. BTD has made timing adjustments and has connected this intersection onto the City of Boston Traffic Management Center's Computer system and has added a camera so BTD can make second two second timing adjustments.

The constituent states it is a very busy intersection, they were almost stuck by a vehicle,and it would ensure the safety of the residents in the area. The constituent states there is one on one end and people often speed in that area. The constituent states a very busy street intersects with the street and it is a safety issue. Intersection Of Cheney St And Montana St, Dorchester, MaConstituent is requesting Montana St be changed to a one way street if possible. The constituent states it is currently a two way and it is unsafe: the street is narrow with vehicles parked on both ends, and they are concerned people can get into possible accidents. The constituent also states they almost got into an accident due to the difficulty of being able to see oncoming traffic, and believes you should only be able to go down Montana from Cheney St and not up. The constituent is requesting assistance with this matter. |
