The protestors at the Park Plaza have been using megaphones, whistles, and horns since 7 am and the noise is only getting louder for the residents who live here. BPD is sitting in their car doing nothing to enforce the noise ordinance. It’s not asking to much to simply request that the protestors not use horns and whistles. The protesters at the Park Plaza began this morning at 7 am. The residents in the surrounding buildings have been listing to drums, cymbals, vuvuzelas, air horns, and whistles for over 12 hours a day for 2 weeks. To be clear, the government is allowed to impose time, place, and manner restrictions on free speech. The Noise Ordinance is such a restriction and applies to the protests. For the past 2 weeks, residents have submitted noise readings to the City of over 100 decibels. This is well-documented. BPD has confirmed that City Hall and Mayor Wu told them not to enforce the Ordinance. The Ordinance was passed by the MA legislature, and Mayor Wu does not have the authority to tell BPD not to enforce the law. The noise is a public nuisance and seriously impacting the health of residents and their ability to live and work in their apartments. The City at least owes the residents, as constituents, an explanation as to why their concerns, their families, their livelihoods, and wellbeing are being sacrificed as collateral damage. The noise from the strike outside of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel is unbearable. I live across the street and the strikers wake me up every morning at 6:45am. They go all day into the night and use every type of instrument to make the most amount of noise possible. It is affecting both my sleep and my work when I work from home. Unbearable noise outside of park plaza hotel. I work remotely and my husband works very late hours. My entire work day is being interrupted due to the noise level and my husband gets home from work at 4 am only to be woken up at 7 am by drums, screaming and airhorns. Issue for BOSTON ANIMAL CONTROL to resolve: Every day between 7 AM and 7:30 AM, a woman with 2 black large dogs, one of them a German Shepherd, arrives in Clemente field, Back Bay Fens park, and unleashes her dogs in an area full of wildlife. I have reported this by email to Animal Control to no avail. A big, adult German Shepherd unleashed is a danger for people and wildlife. Please, stop this entitled dog owner!
