Illegal Parking
16 20 Clipper Ship Ln, East Boston, Ma, 02128To whom it may concern, The area in question has been designated as a No Parking zone since the area was originally constructed. While enforcement has been limited in the past, the parking restrictions themselves have not changed. The recent signage was installed to notify the public that the existing No Parking regulations will begin to be enforced starting July 31, 2026. The purpose of this enforcement is to maintain adequate access for emergency vehicles, service vehicles, and pedestrians accessing the Harborwalk. Vehicles parked in this location have routinely reduced the turning radius for larger vehicles and obstructed safe pedestrian access to the waterfront, creating significant safety concerns. Advance notice was provided approximately one week before enforcement begins to give residents and visitors an opportunity to adjust. The roads in this area are private ways. The only public roadway is Clippership Lane. Based on the property records and applicable agreements, the area where the signs have been installed is under the ownership and management of Clippership Wharf. Parking regulations in that area are being enforced by the property owner in accordance with its authority and obligations.
