  • Domestic Animal Issue

38 Walnut Park, Boston, MA 02119

I am reporting ongoing animal abuse and a health concern at Apartment #2, 38 Walnut Park, Roxbury. The residents regularly leave their dog outside in freezing temperatures for extended periods of time, often 12 hours or more. During these periods, I have not observed any food, water, or shelter provided for the animal. The dog cries throughout the night. On multiple occasions, I have observed the owner come outside to yell at the dog and strike it with a broom. The owner then sweeps the dog’s feces onto the driveway, rather than properly disposing of it. I have attempted to speak with the dog’s owner regarding this situation; however, she was hostile and unapproachable, and the issue has continued. I have also raised concerns to the property management, but no corrective action has been taken. The feces has remained present for weeks, despite the property having a cleaning department. This indicates a lack of proper sanitation and management response. There are children living throughout this apartment complex, and the ongoing presence of animal feces, combined with the strong and persistent odor, presents a potential health hazard to residents. This situation requires immediate attention. The conditions described constitute animal abuse and neglect, as well as a public health concern, and intervention is urgently needed to protect the animal and the residents.
