You have closed and locked the pedestrian gate from the East Boston Memorial Park walkway to the Embassy Suites Hotel because the sidewalk is "closed". It is on the Porter Street side. That is for the park side to enter the sidewalk. If you enter from the street side there is nothing to keep someone from walking on that sidewalk up to the locked gate. Other than some construction material on the grass area you can not really see why it needs to be a closed lock gate, maybe just a caution sign. I said this, because for years, our family has flown into Boston and taking the airport shuttle to the Airport T station and walked across the park with our luggage to the Embassy Suites through the park gate. This year, in the heat, we walked across the park and found the gate was locked. No warning and my daughter has special needs. That walk is a lot for her. We had to turn around and go back across the park and exit at the end of the parking lot and then walk all way down again to the embassy suites hotel. I really just do not see a need to have locked that gate and created this drama for us and others who are also using that gate to access the hotel, rental car center, and adjacent neighborhood.
