29 Hancock St, Boston, MA 02114I am submitting this General Request as a follow-up to my August 5–6 reports concerning bright construction lighting at 27–29 Hancock Street shining directly into my bedroom at the immediately adjacent property, 25 Hancock Street. My original Boston 311 case, BCS-00276421, was created on August 5 at approximately 9:44 p.m. and shortly afterward generated a notice stating that it had been closed as “Resolved.” A separate ISD service request, #101006729658, was opened that evening at approximately 10:20 p.m. Because the condition was not resolved, I called 311 the morning of August 6. I was reassured by the representative that the matter had not actually been closed, but was being transitioned into another system because the original report had been submitted online. He also encouraged me to send additional documentation. I had already done so at approximately 2:26 a.m. that morning, replying to 311 with additional photographs taken from inside my home and explaining that the construction lighting was bright enough to illuminate my bedroom despite the blinds being closed, prevent me from sleeping, and make the interior visible from outside. I specifically requested that those interior photographs and details not be posted publicly because of privacy concerns. I followed up again in writing later on August 6 memorializing what I had been told by 311. I received no substantive response or disposition following those communications. The condition has now recurred. As of approximately 4:15 a.m. on August 12, the construction lighting is again illuminated and shining into my bedroom sufficiently brightly that I am unable to sleep there. I also attempted tonight to access the original BCS-00276421 record through the link previously provided, but the case record no longer appears to be available through that link. Please associate this report with BCS-00276421 and ISD service request #101006729658 and ensure that the recurring condition is referred to the appropriate City department for prompt review. Please also confirm the current status and disposition of the prior service request and what corrective action will be taken to prevent the construction lighting from illuminating the interior of 25 Hancock Street overnight. I am attaching current photographs documenting that the condition has recurred.
