ATTN: Phillip Eng, General Manager MBTA & CEO ATTN: Dennis Varley, MBTA Chief of Stations, Facilities & Structures Back Bay Station Women’s Restroom & ADA Accessibility Unresolved Issue: The Back Bay Station women's restroom ADA stall experiences recurring prolonged occupancy other than its intended purpose, limiting access for passengers who require accessible facilities. Pattern: For over one year, an individual has spent hours in the station daily, with a predictable twice-daily pattern observed around 5:30 AM and 9:15 PM. Similar occupancy has also occurred in the commuter rail lobby near the Amtrak ticket counter. Conditions: Sealed biohazard bags have been placed on the restroom stall floor, and disruptive activity has been observed. A weekend station inspector has documented these incidents and requested Transit Police assistance. Impact: These conditions reduce ADA accessibility and affect passenger use of the station.
