Dear City of Boston, Unfortunately, the recent Beacon Street redesign in Brighton is a prime example of fixing something that was not broken. The project has effectively eliminated the bike lane entirely - visitors to Cassidy Playground clearly do not want to park half a mile away. In addition, the new center-of-the-road parking configuration has narrowed the travel lanes, creating hazardous conditions for both drivers and pedestrians. It is disappointing that the City moved forward with this project without adequately addressing the concerns raised by local residents before began.
