Not sure who to turn to about this but hopefully someone can contact Verizon to have them clean up the mess of cords and equipment that is hanging precariously close to the ground. Verizon replaced a telephone pole in the walkway between Waltham and Hanson Streets on June 8 and 9, 2026. The old wooden pole was sagging with heavy wires from cable lines, etc. so they replaced it with a fiberglass pole. They did a very lousy job cleaning up the wires and left equipment hanging that anyone can reach. The pole is located in the walkway behind 40 Hanson Street. Access to the walkway is via an entrance gate between 40 Hanson and 42 Hanson. They can also access the walkway through a gate on Waltham Street, next to Ringold Park, which is not locked. Again, the walkway/pathway is in the back of the buildings of Hanson and Waltham. People with garden level apartments use that walkway to either take out trash to the street or for companies doing construction work in the back. Wires and equipment need to be raised so residents or contractors don’t damage the cables and equipment.
