On 10/8/2026 around 11:50am the carbon monoxide alarm went off in the hallway of 215 Endicott street, Boston MA 02113. A tenant of the building alerted other tenants that were home to evacuate the building. Then they called the North End fire department. The fire department detected carbon monoxide in the hallways and in one of the units on the second floor. The fire department found that the carbon monoxide came from the construction happening at 210 Endicott street where they were power washing among other construction. The carbon monoxide leaked into the basement of 213 Endicott street where there was an abundant amount of carbon monoxide. That then leaked into the basement of 215 Endicott and up into the hallway. Thank god no one was in the 213 Endicott building. The fire department did not provide a citation to the construction group that were on site. The alarms were going off in 213 Endicott and 215 Endicott. I’m very concerned that this could have ended in a much worse way (people could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning) and it is my hope that the city ensures that the correct measures are taken for the safety of the residents surrounding the construction site that set off two separate building’s carbon monoxide alarms with no repercussions or care.
