Pest Infestation - Residential
24 Irving St, Boston, Ma, 02114We live at 22 Irving Street in Beacon Hill. Our next door neighbor, at 24 Irving Street, has a locked door to access their alleyway that leads out to the captured space behind all of our buildings. The red painted door is unsightly and rotting away at the bottom. We observe rats running in and out every day, under their door. We have never met these neighbors nor do I even know the building owner's name. I would like to request inspectional services to inspect this alleyway and the rear of their yard which is completely neglected, to see if any rat control measures can be taken. We have engaged with an exterminator for our building, who makes quarterly visits to our building, has set traps and has made recommendations that we follow. The building owner behind us, on S. Russell Street, was contacted by Inspectional Services, about the debris and garbage behind their building, which resulted in them cleaning up their yard and installing rat traps. We would like to see other buildings behind and next to us to do the same and perhaps if Inspectional Services were to inspect the area to the rear of 24 Irving, we might see fewer rats running in and out under their rotten door that faces Irving Street.
