Every week for over 2 months my husband (as well as our neighbors) and I have been woken up by Republic Services collecting trash outside of Zesto’s Pizzeria at 3:30-3:45 in the morning. We have slept with noise machines, noise cancelling headphones, etc. and it still wakes us up every week in the middle of the night. While the city can't dictate the hours (M.G.L. c. 111, § 31A) of when garbage pick-up occurs for commercial businesses, they are in charge of the noise violations and can request that the pickup is done quietly. These trucks have clearly exceeded the noise limitations every week based on my readings of over 75 decibels when it’s supposed to be under 50 decibels from 11PM to 7AM (according to Boston Municipal Code 16-26.1). Please address this issue, it’s not right.
