Formal Complaint Regarding 311 Representative Conduct Hello, I am writing to formally report an issue my elderly father experienced while speaking with a Boston 311 representative regarding his senior housing building’s parking lot not being plowed. He was on the phone for approximately 15 minutes trying to report the urgent matter. During the call, he politely asked if he could “hang up” he is an elderly man and urgently needed to use the restroom. Understandably, this was something he felt uncomfortable stating directly over the phone. The representative responded by yelling at him and stating, “Fine, if you want to hang up, nothing will be done,” and then hung up. I understand you’re all working tirelessly and receiving an absurd amount of calls due to the recent snow storms but this behavior is unacceptable, especially when speaking to elderly residents seeking assistance during winter conditions. Seniors deserve patience, professionalism, and respect. I would appreciate this matter being reviewed and addressed appropriately. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
