Illegally Blocked Sidewalk
A St & Congress StThe corner of A Street & Congress St (outside of Lucky’s in Fort Point, South Boston) is impassable from Thursday-Saturday evenings/nights due to Lucky’s patrons. This has been going on for 5+ years. The sidewalk was recently widened to accommodate foot traffic in both directions, so now they’re blocking off half of it with a velvet rope to try to create a line for their patrons — I appreciate the attempt, but it takes away half of the public way for private use, & their patrons still block the other half of the sidewalk because they don’t do enough to corral them. Pedestrians are forced to choose between shoving through the crowd (who are often too drunk to hear an “excuse me”) or walking in traffic.
