500 Columbia Rd, Boston, MA 02125[Date] To: David Leonard, President of the Boston Public Library Boston Public Library Central Branch 700 Boylston St Boston, MA 02116 Subject: Commendation for Uphams Corner Branch Library Staff — National Good Pirates Month Display Dear President Leonard, On behalf of the Uphams Corner community, I am writing to share a high note of appreciation and formally commend the incredible staff at the Uphams Corner Branch Library, located at 500 Columbia Road in Dorchester. In celebration of National Good Pirates Month, Branch Library Director Georgia and summer staff member David magnificently and artistically created a beautiful, captivating bulletin board display. Their creative work has brought immense joy, excitement, and a vibrant energy into our local library branch. The community response to this artwork has been overwhelmingly positive. One visitor specifically noted that the display was an excellent piece of art, calling it wonderful, exciting, and stating that it made them smile and laugh because the work was so exceptionally well done. I personally spoke with David regarding the display. He shared that while the project was a bit challenging, it stands as one of his best works. He expressed great pride in the final outcome and his sincere hope that the neighborhood continues to enjoy it. It is clear that both Georgia and David poured their dedication and passion into this representation, and it stands as a simply great reflection of our community's spirit. Our library staff members do so much more than manage books—they build community, spark joy, and create a welcoming environment for all. Please ensure that this formal letter of commendation is placed in the personnel files of Branch Director Georgia and staff member David to recognize their outstanding contribution to the Uphams Corner neighborhood. Thank you for your continued leadership and support of our neighborhood library branches. Sincerely, Anthony Meeks Volunteer Advocate, Uphams Corner Area Dorchester, MA
