Illegal Parking
240 B Westview St, Dorchester, Ma, 02124On Westview st in Dorchester multiple multiple “no stopping 8pm-6am” signs were posted sometime last year for an event of some kind which was happening early morning and they did not want vehicles parked on that side of the street, the entrance from Blue Hill Ave also gets barricaded. These signs were never taken down afterwards. There has never been a problem or anyone getting ticketed for parking there during these nights hours so life went on. Last night I happened to be parked there, and when I went to leave for work this morning I found a ticket on my windshield, and also noticed many other vehicles were ticketed. Very confused about why mine and so many other vehicles would have been ticketed I quickly inspected it and noticed the reason was for “no stopping or standing”, with a $90 fee. I Was very dumbfounded about this due to this being a public road which is always full with parked vehicles and specifically on the non residential side where nobody would be blocking any driveways, businesses, loading zones or ramps, nor is parking restricted during any times for resident permit only, when I made it back home I quickly analyzed the street and its signs, thinking maybe there would be a new and updated sign with a reason not to park and I did not see anything different. I quickly thought it had to be possibly a new parking enforcer new to the route, the job not knowing or realizing these signs don’t apply there on a daily
