I am a resident at 500 Atlantic Ave in Boston. As part of a multi-year renovation project at the adjacent commercial property at 470 Atlantic Ave, they have installed rooftop lighting fixtures that shine directly across property lines onto our building. This condition is ongoing. The fixtures are unshielded, with exposed fixtures/bulbs that point directly outward rather than downward. As a result, bright light and glare fall onto our building's facade and enter residential units, including windows, at night. The illumination is visible from multiple floors and is bright enough to create spots of glare and reflections on the glass even after dark. I have photographic documentation taken at dawn and at night showing: (1) the unshielded fixtures and their direction of aim, and (2) the light and glare cast onto our building's facade and into its windows. I have attached copies of several of these photos. This condition constitutes light trespass and a private nuisance affecting residents' use and enjoyment of their units, including sleep. I am requesting that the City of Boston Inspectional Services Department review the lighting installation at the adjacent property and, if warranted, require the building owner at 470 Atlantic Ave to take corrective action such as shielding or re-aiming the fixtures downward to prevent light from crossing the property line. Street light not operating correctly at the intersection of Cambridge st and N beacon st. The Cambridge st lights are changing too quickly, the turn signal no longer comes on, and both lights go green at the same time.
