819 E Sixth St, Boston, MA 02127I am requesting an inspection and compliance review of the development at 804 East 7th Street. The project plans/materials presented for this development show pedestrian ramps connecting the 6th and 7th Street sides of the property, as well as trees/landscaping associated with that pedestrian connection. I met with a representative of the developer on August 27, 2026, and was told that neither ramp will be constructed and that the trees shown in this area will not be installed. The developer stated that the pedestrian area will not be gated; however, the fencing and layout currently being constructed make the area appear to be part of the private residential/HOA property rather than a clearly identifiable public pedestrian connection. This could create confusion and conflict between members of the public using the route and future residents who may reasonably view people walking through the fenced property as trespassing. Please have ISD and/or the appropriate Planning Department staff review the currently permitted and approved plans and inspect the construction to determine whether the elimination of the ramps, trees/landscaping, and configuration of the pedestrian connection complies with the approvals for this project, and whether any amendments were approved authorizing these changes. Because construction is currently underway, I am requesting that this be reviewed before the project is completed or receives final occupancy approval.
