Resubmitting this because 311 closed the first one saying it was a duplicate case. It is not. This case is about developer Denis Keohane’s destruction of the root system of an approximately 25”-30” diameter silver maple on our side of the property line, to dig a drainage swale on his side of the property line. The extensive excavating directly within the critical root zone of the silver maple tree on the shared property line will likely cause the tree to die or fall over as a result of root loss. Plus, when he clear cut the site - he removed numerous City trees that were in the public ROW of Milton Avenue as shown on the City’s tree canopy inventory. Previous post that 311 closed: 1-8 Kinsale Lane / 146 Milton Avenue - Denis Keohane clear cut two acres of a former City of Boston water reservoir - including multiple trees in the Milton Avenue ROW that belonged to the City of Boston. The clear cut site is not retaining its own stormwater runoff due to the natural springs, groundwater and high water table, and lack of stormwater infrastructure. During the storm last weekend, water overflowed the retention basin that Keohane had dug in the lowest corner of the property. Today he is doing further excavation on the retention basin and the trench along the property line. The extensive excavating directly within the critical root zone of the silver maple tree on the shared property line will likely cause the tree to die or fall over as a result of root loss.
