The Chinatown, Leather District, and Financial District area are being stalked by noisy cars and mopeds/motorbikes/motorcycles with extremely noisy mufflers, or without mufflers at all. These vehicles prowl the streets endlessly and at times drive extremely fast. Sometimes, they park and idle and rev their engines. 911 has been called several times. I have read in the paper this is an issue throughout the city. It does not appear anything is being done. It is a nuisance and a quality of life issue for many people. These incidents occur usually at night, throughout the night and late into the morning. Please help!

No inspection on windshield only a resident sticker

The Apartments at 81 Essex have been doing an extremely noisy exterior brick repointing project for over a year now. It is dusty, loud, and severely impacting the peace and enjoyment of the neighbors in the area. There appears to be absolutely no effort to move this project along; in fact instead it looks as if it is being intentionally drawn out and extended. There are not enough workers on this site for a job this size. Sometime the work starts before 7am. I was told by one of the workers the job would be completed on 5/15/2026. It is still ongoing with no signs of being completed anytime soon. I feel this project should be looked into and investigated by the city. Something is not right with this situation and it is a major disruption in the neighborhood. Further, no one in adjacent buildings have been communicated with or updated on this. Please help!
