Intersection Of Porter St And Orleans St, East Boston, Ma

The parking inside East Boston Memorial Park (Thompson Drive), as you enter the park from Porter and Orleans Streets, is out of control. Enforcement by BTD is entirely inconsistent, and inadequate. Now that spring is here, the parking spaces that are dedicated for guests of the park, are occupied by perennial offenders, typically airport employees and T/Blue Line commuters, who are dodging parking expenses. Lately, people flying out of Logan Airport have discovered that they can drop their car off at East Boston Memorial Park, leave their car in East Boston Memorial Park for a few days, and not pay Logan Airport parking fees, or get a ticket or tow, and walk right from their car in the park, to the Airport/Massport Shuttle, at the Airport Blue Line Station. Airport employees start parking in the park at about 4 to 5 AM, and park there, all day. Airport employees park in the park, all night, and work the night shift at the airport. BTD is not issuing tickets to cars, early in the morning, rarely during the day, not in the evening (the same cars arrive about 2 PM, and stay there till about midnight, every day), and not on weekends. The problem is really bad on weekends. What will it take for BTD to start paying attention to the car owners who violate the “2 Hour Parking” signage, every day? Please pay attention to these conditions, and ticket and tow these cars. There should be no parking in the park, at night, the signs say that the park is closed from sunset to sunrise. The parking signs say “Two Hour
