I am reporting an active cockroach infestation in a rental apartment at Mission Main, Unit 42C, 42 St. Alphonsus Street, Boston, MA 02120. The infestation was discovered before/at the beginning of our occupancy. On August 12, 2026, multiple cockroaches, including live nymphs and an adult carcass, were observed in the bathroom and reported to property management. Management stated that the unit would receive professional extermination treatment. On August 14, after we were told that extermination had been completed, we continued to find significant live cockroach activity throughout the apartment. Live cockroaches were found in the kitchen/dishwasher and multiple bedrooms. Several cockroaches emerged from multiple air-conditioning units when they were turned on. Additional live and dead cockroaches remained after pest-control treatment. On August 15, we continued to observe live cockroaches and found numerous suspected cockroach egg cases inside the kitchen cabinets. We have photographs and videos documenting the conditions and have repeatedly notified property management. We are requesting an Inspectional Services housing inspection for an ongoing residential cockroach infestation and documentation of the conditions.
