Someone has no respect for the neighborhood. Trash out already?! It’s between number 20 and 22 Worcester Square.

There needs to be more trash cans added on Cummings Highway specifically near this MBTA bus stop here that serves the 30. There’s a liquor store near this bus stop and users seem to be littering scratch tickets and nips throughout the neighborhood and without any trash cans these new awesome rain gardens are going to be the default trashcan. They should also be a trashcan at the liquor store if they’re going to be selling this type of stuff stuff currently there’s nothing right outside of it. They should also be some type of signage throughout their neighborhood, discouraging litter and encouraging people to keep Mattapan clean. I’ve walked up and down the neighborhood and haven’t noticed any type of sign connected to litter and encouraging good behavior. The new added infrastructure is great, but I’m slightly worried that it won’t be maintained properly if we don’t have additional components like education and encouraging people to maintain it. Trash cans are a fundamental piece of the public realm and they are very rare on Cummings Highway at the moment and the rain gardens are accumulating with trash. Please help 🙏🏾
