I am writing as a concerned resident regarding the vacant lot located at the corner of Brooks Street and Eutaw Street in East Boston. I have previously reported this property multiple times through the City’s 311 system. Unfortunately, the conditions have not improved. The lot is consistently neglected by the property owner and has become an ongoing eyesore and safety concern for our neighborhood. Most recently, ice and snow have remained on the property for weeks, creating hazardous conditions for pedestrians and nearby residents. I understand that the City has issued a ticket, which was placed on the fence. The challenge is that the owners of this property do not live locally and clearly do not monitor or maintain the land. When this land was sold, residents were told that it could never be developed. Given that understanding and the ongoing neglect, I am respectfully requesting that the City consider allowing neighborhood residents to use this vacant lot as a small community park or green space for children and families. Our neighbors are willing to take responsibility for maintaining the property by keeping it clean, safe, and usable for the community. This would immediately resolve the maintenance issues while transforming an unused, unsafe space into something positive for the neighborhood. We are proud of our community and want to be part of the solution. I respectfully ask the City to review this situation and adv
