Intersection Of Commonwealth Ave And Chestnut Hill Ave, Brighton, MaHi there, I live in an apartment at Comm Ave and Chestnut Hill, and this is the 6th night that maintenance construction on the Green Line has being going on throughout the night at the CH B line stop. I’m sure there’s a permit that allows for this work late at night despite regular noise ordinances, but just so there’s a record, I want to submit this complaint. Neighbors were not notified of this work, and I think it would be great if the MBTA and other state agencies were at the very least required to notify Boston residents to expect this and for how long. A T worker told me this will go on through Friday- nearly a week and a half of this 24/7 work. Tonight not only is there a jackhammer, but there’s also a white, blinding light shining into my apartment windows. As a daily T rider, I really appreciate all of the T workers’ efforts to improve the safety and functionality of the green line. But the impacts of late night construction on the people who live here should also be taken into account when the City of Boston grants these exemptions to the noise ordinance.
