7 Tip Top St, Brighton, Ma, 02135I was speaking with a neighbor about the terrible way the construction at 7 tip top st is happening and she suggested I let you know why we too are upset. I have lodged this concern with the city's 311 line, but not sure it is mattering to anyone. A few things- it's my understanding that contractors seeking to put dumpsters on the street, block off parking and sidewalks, or close the road need permits for that with a beginning and end date. These folks have put a big dumpster on the street, and block off parking with no notice of for how long and with what permission. The street is now difficult to get by and the neighbors can barely get out of their driveway. With all the demo they are doing - I thought a chute is required to get such building trash into the dumpster, and tarps or barriers to prevent the debris and dust going everywhere. None of that is happening. The abutting neighbors are particularly affected- we are now going out and cleaning our yards of nails, wood, siding, glass bits, etc. I'm doing this a few times a day because we have dogs and little kids visiting and we use the yards and sidewalk. And, really nasty, they put a porta potty right in front of our front door - my understanding is there needs to be a 10 ft setback from property lines - I was told this was going to be my problem for 10 months. Seems to me that they are not doing the things required, which may cost them more, but this is definitely going beyond "just construction" and really making it miserable to be here. There should be something that can be done Appreciate anything you can do - I do have a picture of the problem if that helps.
