Hi. I called 311 to report issues with an apartment that I just moved into on 5/26. My case has already been heard but I am copying the email I sent to the building admin for reference. I dont think all the photos will attach. Hi I am writing to document serious safety and sanitary issues upon our movein today 5/26. It is now past midnight when I am sending this. This is apartment 5 at 520 Cambridge St in Allston. First, exposed wires: This is in the closet of the bedroom on the right. The floor next to the front door Above the kitchen door There are a few other concerning electrical parts. Wire painted over stuck next to outlet Network cable outlet hanging off wall in first bedroom Very loose outlet in secons bedroom Next a window that wont stay open. This video is attached. The toilet leaks profusely when flushed. This video is also attached. Clearly the water just soaks into the separation between the wall and the floor, leading me to wonder about mold. Video File IMG_5300.mov And finally the second bedroom door struggles to close fully because there is a wire running under it and lots of paint in the frame, meaning that when the door is successfully closed it is very difficult to open. Regarding the toilet I called the emergency maintenance number at 11:40 PM on 5/26 and documented the issue with the receptionist. I was called back at 11:51 PM on 5/26 by the maintenance man who told us that someone will come between 8 AM and 9AM on 5/27 to deal with this and that in the meantime we should flush by "dumping a bunch of water into the toilet."
