Subject: Urgent Complaint — Unsafe and Refusal of Service by Boston Cab (Medallion #531, Aztec Cab) Dear Hackney Carriage Unit, I am writing to file a formal complaint about an incident that occurred on the evening of Saturday, November 8th, at approximately 10:15 PM after we left the TD Garden following a comedy show. My husband and I got into a cab that appeared to be from Aztec Cab. We asked the driver to take us to Charlestown, but he began driving extremely erratically and then abruptly pulled over near West End Place, refusing to take us any farther. He told us to “get out of my cab,” saying he didn’t want to drive to Charlestown because of traffic. When we questioned this and asked for the medallion number, the driver refused to provide it. We believe the medallion number is 531, and we also have the license plate number if that helps with identification. The driver then called what he said was his boss, and the woman on the phone became verbally abusive, shouting at us to “get the F out of her cab.” My husband explained that it is illegal for a cab driver to refuse service, but they continued to yell at us until we exited the vehicle. We were left stranded at West End Place, shaken by both the reckless driving and the verbal aggression. Please investigate this incident, as we believe this driver poses a safety and regulatory concern. I can provide the license plate number and any further details if needed. We’re an artists live/work space so yes you’ll see gallery and other art trash from this building…we’re on the cities schedule for trash, recycling, yard waste and food waste. So this must be a mixup since we’re clearly in your system as having trash and recycling so please make sure we are getting serviced. Unless our taxes somehow don’t cover trash and recycling pick up….
