Intersection Of Blue Hill Ave And American Legion Hwy, Dorchester, MaMy name is John King, and I am a resident of Dorchester writing as a parent and neighbor to raise a serious safety concern in our community regarding the American Legion Highway and Blue Hill Avenue corridor. There is a critical gap in safe pedestrian crossings along American Legion Highway between Blue Hill Avenue and Franklin Hill Avenue. In the middle of this stretch sits Angel Street, which provides direct access to a public park and playground. However, there is currently no marked crosswalk at this location. As a result, residents—especially families with children—are forced to either walk a significant distance out of the way to the nearest crosswalk or attempt to cross a high-speed roadway without any protection.
