- Description
- Over the past week I've encountered several used hypodermic needles on the benches, Infield, and outfield spaces at Kirby and Veins fields in Moakley/Columbus Park in South Boston. Each time I took a used bottle/car/or cup and contained the needle and threw away off site. Again this morning, during a softball practice at Veins field I found another needle in center field with the tip snapped off. It is my understanding that there are numerous youth leagues that play in these field spaces and they are also open for public use. Now that it is baseball/softball season, I hope that these fields can be inspected by the city more often and more closely so that no accidents occur among the youth groups (and adults) who utilize these fields. I would hate to see someone accidentally be pricked. Thank you. | SR Type: [Ground Maintenance General]
