- Peters Park is a symbol of the neglect and poor work ethic of the Parks Dept. Ground crew doesn't care!!! 1. They cut the new grass but don't care to put protective fence back up anywhere. Don't tell me they were down. Doesn't matter the ground crew should put them back up to protect the new grass. 2. Some existing grass areas weren't mowed. Why come to the Park cut 3 areas and leave other areas uncut? Because Parks Dept crews don't care. As has been evident for many years, the Parks work ethic is to do as little as possible. 3. Weeds in other parts are out of control. Why? Because Parks Dept crews don't care. Parks culture is to do as little as possible. 4. New planters are over grown with weeds. Why? Because they don't care. Don't use the excuse the renovation contractor is responsible. The contractor is gone. Parks Dept needs to step up and take care of our Boston parks. Case Resolved | The fenced in areas are still under contract. It is all in the contractor's scope. The contractor has been on site the repair work. He's going to be re-seeding and fertilizing in the near future. He is also going to be replacing the dead shrubs and will weed the beds while he's there. Unfortunately, this case was inadvertently left open. Closing the case prompted this late response. We apologize for the delay.
