Description
Drove by East Boston city yards today to witness scores of people playing soccer. While the rest of us are doing our part during this pandemic these people think they are better than the rest of us. They are going to spread this virus as did Madison Gradi Grad. Please Mr. Mayor shut the playgrounds down and enforce it for the sake of all of us. If I see it again and nothing has been done I will notify several news stations to expose this. Thank you.

Case Noted | Boston Parks Are Here For You Dear Friend, We wanted to update you on the work we've been doing to help "flatten the curve" and slow the spread of COVID-19 here in Boston. You may know that we've mobilized staff to post signs stating that playgrounds are closed. Yesterday, we placed new signage in courts citywide, printed with the following statement: "To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and encourage social distancing, group sports activities on these courts are temporarily suspended. This includes but is not limited to: basketball, soccer, street hockey, tennis, and pickleball." We are glad to have the signs in place to educate those who may be unaware of the temporary closures. Basketball nets were secured over the past weekend and early this week. Street hockey nets were removed yesterday. In the next few days we will be securing soccer nets. At this time, we are asking residents to practice social distancing in the City of Boston. Parks are open for "passive use", such as walking, jogging, or cycling. We've shared messages explaining "social distancing" via social media and our website, in addition to posting signs.
