To: Commissioner of Inspectional Services, City of Boston Attention: Environmental Sanitation Division (Rodent Control Section) Request Type: Rodent / Pest Infestation & Structural Inspection Request Location:Alleyway adjacent to 6 Hancock Street, Boston, MA (Uphams Corner area) Department: City of Boston Inspectional Services Department (ISD) Description: First, I want to formally acknowledge the prompt and thorough response to my previous 311 service request, as well as the overall great work that the Environmental Sanitation Division and the entire Inspectional Services team consistently perform. Your dedication is incredibly important to maintaining the safety, health, and vibrancy of the Uphams Corner neighborhood and the City of Boston at large. I am writing to submit a complaint regarding an extreme rodent infestation observed in the alleyway area of 6 Hancock Street. Please note that local business merchants in the immediate area have specifically requested this rodent control intervention and health inspection due to the escalating nature of the issue. There is visible evidence of rodent burrows, severe holes dug into the soil bordering the walkways, and compromised concrete structural elements near stairs and foundations that provide direct entry points and nesting grounds for pests. Given the proximity to residential and commercial space, please dispatch a health inspector from the Environmental Sanitation Division to evaluate the property conditions, check the surrounding ground burrows, and ensure swift enforcement of the State Sanitary Code and code compliance guidelines. Three detailed photographic records capturing the exact locations of the holes and structural wear are ready to be attached to this case file. Thank you to the division's team for your invaluable service to our community and your prompt attention to this matter. In while they are over there could they rechecked The Greenery Area at the corner of Hancock Street and Columbia Road September 26th we are doing beautification day in that area and I would hate for a child or anyone to get bit by a rat. Could you re-bate the holes. Thank you on behalf of the Uphams Corner Community.
