Sidewalk Repair

Description: Utility restoration of sidewalk required. Eversource opened the brick sidewalk directly in front of 40 Concord Square to replace a broken underground electrical service main (the "foot" of the power main going into the house). The repair took place approximately Oct 17, 2025 after the property lost power. In the course of the work, Eversource removed a section of the historic brick sidewalk and filled the opening with a temporary asphalt/tar patch. That temporary patch is still in place and has not been permanently restored to brick. This is a utility-caused sidewalk opening, and permanent restoration to the original brick surface is the responsibility of the permittee (Eversource) under BPWD Rules and Specifications. I'm requesting that the Construction Inspection Unit / Utility Coordination and Compliance flag this location as outstanding utility restoration and notify Eversource to permanently restore the sidewalk to brick.
