Description
Unauthorized private sign on City property — Boston Code §16-23.3 I am requesting review of a privately installed “NO DOGS ON GRASS” sign located in the grass strip at 34–36 Neptune Cir, Boston, MA 02128. The grass area is City/public property adjacent to the public sidewalk and street. My previous 311 case (BCS-00322399) was closed stating that no Code Enforcement violation was found. I am resubmitting because Boston Code §16-23.3, “Posting in Public Places,” states that, without the consent of the Mayor, no person may post or affix a notice upon a curbstone, sidewalk, street, public place, or property belonging to the City. Please determine whether the property owner has City authorization to install this private “NO DOGS ON GRASS” sign on the public property. If there is no such authorization, please refer the matter to the appropriate department for enforcement/removal. Photos are attached showing the sign and its location relative to the sidewalk and curb.
