Description
In response to the city not wanting to do anything about case # 101006742238: Please come cleanup the RAT FECES and other leftover trash on the sidewalk in front of 3 Westerly St. They continue taking out trash in an uncovered or partially covered overfilled trash barrel. They also put other flimsy bags right on the sidewalk. Rodents even rip the bags in the partially covered or uncovered trash barrel so you can imagine the ones on the sidewalk are even easier pickings. You can see them in action and the aftermath in the attached pics. Limited to 3 attachments, but there were at least a dozen rats total. The trash collection workers have gone out of their way up to this point picking up as much as they can, but it's not their job to be picking up dispersed trash on the sidewalk because property owners can't be bothered to properly take it out for collection. We have 2 collection days on Westerly St. Mondays and Thursdays. This happens almost every single collection day. If you go to the other end of their property where there is a black hummer or black Honda suv parked, you can see from the sidewalk that there are tons of rat droppings on their driveway near the dividing fence with 347 Centre St which happens to house Rizzo's Pizza on the 1st floor. Rizzo's trash barrels are placed next to that dividing fence uncovered although the barrels have integrated covers. Also, a lot of trash is in the vicinity of their barrels as rats will have feasts due to the unimpeded access to the trash. If this isn't an issue for the department it was originally routed to, why couldn't it be rerouted to the correct one instead of just trying to sweep it under the rug as if nothing is wrong when this is a serious issue. Rats on the property of where a restaurant is located seems to warrant some sort of investigation/response. The same goes for other properties not properly taking out trash for collection according to city regulations.
