went to Roche Brothers at Downtown Crossing and bought bulk dried fruit and peanuts. I thought the cashier would tare the scale to account for the weight of the container, but she said there was no way for her to do so. She called a supervisor and 2 other cashiers who also said they were not aware of any procedure for taring the container, and they consider the weight of the container negligible. They do not note this anywhere in the store so if you buy something in their plastic containers you are effectively paying more for the same amount of goods as someone who buys it in a plastic bag. Furthermore, to my knowledge Whole Foods and Bfresh do tare their scales to account for container weight. Please let me know if this practice or not taring is permitted. | Store name/location: [Roche brothers at downtown crossing.] When did this happen: [08/23/2019]

Constituent called and reported that the frozen stop and shop brand bags of broccoli florettes is labled incorrectly. She said that it says that the bag weighs 42 oz. but when she thaws out the bag and weighs it on a scale the bag only weigh 3 quarters. She said that the majority of the weight is from the water being frozen and not the actual product. She said that the quality of the product is also mushy and terrible. It is a WIC product so she feels as though they are diliberately trying to discourage poor people from eating healthy. | Product identification: [frozen Broccoli florettes/ stop and shop brand 42oz. or 4 pound bags] Store name/location: [Stop and Shop] When did this happen: [02/13/2019]
