1 Devonshire Pl, Boston, Ma, 02108On 12/8 at around 11 a.m., two of my neighbors were trapped in an elevator at Devonshire Boston, located at 1 Devonshire Place, Boston, MA 02109. This is a 42-story multi-unit residential building. Image 1 is a screenshot from the video they took while stuck. They reported that the elevator suddenly dropped and then became stuck. Residents are not informed about this incident. This elevator is identified as Elevator #1, it had a delayed inspection this year, with its certificate issued in June instead of January, and it remained in operation during that gap. This is not an isolated instance. On 11/3 at around 10 p.m., there was another stalled-elevator incident involving Elevator #3. A group of residents became stuck at the 32nd floor and were rescued on the 25th floor. Image 2 shows the original Citizen app alert, which later disappeared. Residents were never informed, yet the elevator was placed back into service immediately afterward. I used this elevator on 11/4 in the morning and afternoon and noticed its floor indicator was broken; it remains broken today. This elevator also had a delayed inspection certificate and was operating without valid certification during the gap period. Image 3, taken in March of this year, shows the elevator running without a valid certificate. We contacted building management about the stalled-elevator incident, but they did not respond. I followed up again on 12/8 at around 7 a.m., and four hours later, another elevator incident occurred.

Intersection Of Park St And Warren St, Charlestown, MaThis is a general complaint about Moped riders, appearing to be food delivery workers not following traffic rules. This creates safety issues for pedestrians who are using sidewalks and crosswalks and other vehicles on the road. Numerous violations are witnessed of Mopeds abusing traffic laws: -Running red lights -Driving through cross walks when people are crossing the street -Driving the wrong way on one-way streets -Driving on sidewalks when pedestrians are present 2 specific examples: A week ago I was driving behind a Moped on Cambridge street near Mass General and witnessed them run 3 red lights and then cut in front of oncoming traffic to make a left turn at another red light. Another time in Charlestown. I was walking at the intersection of Warren St. and Park St., a Moped ran the stop sign and proceeded the wrong way up park st. right in front of a Boston Police vehicle. Nothing was done, no enforcement…eventhough it happened right in front of law enforcement. I have not witnessed any example of the city enforcing basic traffic laws on Mopeds. We see examples of this behavior every time we are out walking in the city. It is a wonder there are not more accidents and more injuries or deaths related to this abuse of our traffic laws. Without any visible enforcement, Moped drivers are emboldened to ride with impunity. What can the city do about this problem?
