  • New Tree Requests

Intersection Of Annapolis St And Bakersfield St, Dorchester, Ma

Bakersfield and Annapolis St. both get extremely hot during the summer, which is partially due to the lack of tree cover. Residents near that corner (myself included) could greatly benefit from the cooling effects provided by greater canopy cover. Those benefits are especially important considering that it is a low-income, historically redlined neighborhood that faces disproportionate economic and health consequences as a result of this historical environmental injustice. 25 Bakersfield is currently a parking lot used by very few residents. There are usually only about 5-10 cars parked there at any given time, although the lot has space for at least 20 cars. It does not have any tree pits at the moment, but there should be plenty of space to install them given that so few residents use that parking lot. | Reside at this location: [No] Explaint: [I live two doors down from this corner.] Owner of the property: [No] Sidewalk tree or a private lawn plantings: [Sidewalk tree] Multiple street trees: [Yes]

    CLOSED #101005455343

Noted. Thank you for your interest in increasing the canopy in the City of Boston. In order for the BPRD Urban Forestry Division to ensure the success of our new street trees we require that the property owner who directly abuts where the new tree is being requested to be planted be the one who makes the request for a new tree. Only requests made by the actual abutting property owner will be inspected for new tree pit installment and planting. Requests can be made via the 311 app, by calling 311 or by calling the Park Line at 617-635-7275. Thank you.

  • New Tree Requests

63 Melcher St, Boston, Ma, 02210

Please plant a tree near 63 or 51 Melcher St. Or directly across, by the Blue Dragon restaurant. There are almost zero trees on our street.

    CLOSED #101005453219

Noted. Thank you for your interest in increasing the canopy in the City of Boston. In order for the BPRD Urban Forestry Division to ensure the success of our new street trees we require that the property owner who directly abuts where the new tree is being requested to be planted be the one who makes the request for a new tree to be planted. Only requests made by the actual abutting property owner will be inspected for planting. Judging by your second photo it looks as though the construction crew is leaving space for a tree pit that the property management will most likely fill with a tree as part of a maintenance agreement. Requests can be made via the 311 app by calling 311 or by calling the Park Line at 617-635-7275. Thank you.

  • New Tree Requests

224 Kelton St, Apt 5, Allston, Ma, 02134

The section beginning from where Kelton Street intersects with Scottfield Rd down to where Kelton Street becomes Winchester Street has no trees at all. Recently, the landlords cut down three huge trees on this portion of Kelton Street, so the street is even hotter than before. Multiple trees would be best, but I am requesting at least one. | Reside at this location: [Yes] Explaint: [Yes; it's an apartment complex.] Owner of the property: [No] Sidewalk tree or a private lawn plantings: [Sidewalk tree] Explaint: [It does not have to be directly in front of the apartment. I am requesting at least one tree anywhere along Kelton Street, beginning from the intersection with Scottfield Rd until Kelton Street becomes Winchester Street.] Multiple street trees: [Yes]
